Rick-Lee goes bright red as she lets slip that she was “having relations” with her husband when she recently found out that her single U Want A Little Of This went to #1 in the UK Commercial Club Charts … naughty!
She also tells the boys what her role will be as the third host of Australian Idol 2008 and answers an emphatic “No!” when asked – “Will we hear the pitter patter of little feet anytime soon?”

Adrian: Ricki-Lee we’re so glad to have you on the show and congratulations on your Australian Idol anointment.
Ricki-Lee: I’ve got a real job finally!
Andy: Oh we knew you could get a real job one day.
Adrian: You’re the official third host for Australian Idol 08.
Ricki-Lee: Yeah, I got a call a couple months ago from the producers of the show – they wanted to spice up the show, freshen it up and I’m joining the hosting team with the boys. I’m spending a lot of time with the contestants and I’ll be in the house with them and I’ll be in their song workshops and I’ll basically be getting all the laughs and the tears. You know, I’ve been through what the contestants have been through so I can relate to them on that level. They want to task me a million questions on how to get further in the show, what to expect, what happens after …
Adrian: Who does your hair, where your shoes are from?
Ricki-Lee: Haha … really I’m just a mentor to these guys and Monday nights are going to be my domain. The boys will be on the main stage but Monday nights will be all my stuff being shown.
Andy: So you’re going to be known as the Australian Idol mum.
Ricki-Lee: I prefer Auntie!
Andy: Oh sorry doll … younger sister!
Ricki-Lee: Some of the contents are older than me so I don’t know about mum.
Andy: So I have to ask, is there talk of you and Marcia doing a duet?
Adrian: We want to hear “Sisters are doing it for Themselves”.
Ricki-Lee: Sounds like a Young Divas project.
Andy: Ok strike it then .. oh we won’t do that.
Adrian: That was a subtle way of saying “That’s a shit idea Adrian!”.
Ricki-Lee: No I didn’t say that! No, I haven’t heard of us doing a duet, I don’t know where that’s come from.
EDIT
Andy: The remake of Can’t Touch It, that was great. Now I have to ask, because some people may not be aware, but that went to Number 1 in the UK dance charts.
Ricki-Lee: Yeah, it was Number 1 on the UK Commercial Cross Charts – we found out a couple weeks ago and we’ve been celebrated ever since.
Andy: Where were you when you found out? Were you at home doing the washing?
Ricki-Lee: No I was at home in bed with my husband doing rude things …
Andy: You weren’t!
Ricki-Lee: … then I got a text message and I leant over and picked up my phone and I was like “Oh my God yes how exciting” and he was like “What” and I said “It’s Number 1!”
Adrian: That is so funny and I don’t mean to offend you darl, you know I love you , but it reminds me of the Paris Hilton video where she is getting up to some rude business and she leans cross to pick up her mobile phone and her SMS.
Andy: You can’t do it in the middle of relations.
Ricki-Lee: Oh it wasn’t relations … you know … you know…
Andy: Don’t go there we like to keep it nice.
Adrian: I can see her blushing over the phone line.
Ricki-Lee: Oh my god why did I say that what is wrong with me! I could have just said yes I was going the washing.
EDIT
Andy: You’re a busy girl, but the questions we want to know, is there room for the pitter patter of tiny feet.
Ricki-Lee: No way, no way!
Andy: You better stop doing that naughty stuff then!
Ricki-Lee: Practice makes perfect!
Adrian: You and James Babbington have been married for a while now, you must get a lot of pressure from your mum, the family … they don’t stop once you’re married.
Ricki-Lee: It’s funny because after you’ve been together for a while everyone is like, “So when are you getting engaged”. Then once you’re engaged everyone wants to know about the wedding, then once the weddings over, before you’re even down the aisle, everyone wants to know if you’re pregnant yet. Not for a while I can definitely say you’re not going to see me having babies for probably another 3 years
Adrian: The only baby will be a new album.
Ricki-Lee: Yes I need to put all my time and effort into that and concentrate and try and keep sain.
