Goodbye Michael Jackson

michael-jacksonI can barely believe it, but it’s true. Michael Jackson has passed away.

He has been an incredibly important part of my life and it all started one night when I was at home watching TV. It was 1993 and I didn’t really know who Michael Jackson was, but a special come on showcasing his new video clip; Black & White. And from that moment one, I was a shameless fan.

Ahh the memories … how about when mum came into my room and caught me in the dark singing Man In The Mirror while throwing ripped paper shreads in the air. Or when my special home-made MJ top I made (which I bedazzled) to wear to his HIStory concert ripped at the seams; I was still going to wear it so I pulled out the ducking tape and used that to keep it together. Or when a friend and I broke into the boardroom of our workplace at midnight to watch the world premiere of You Rock My World on the big screen. Good times, good times …

He was an incredible entertainer and muscian, and although I can still barely believe that he isn’t part of our world, I know the legacy he made to music will live on.

Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and his children.

If you have any special Michael Jackson moments from your life, we’d love for you share them below.

Michael Jackson has always been a huge influence in my life and eventually my career. The first pop song I EVER sang was when I was 6 years old and I learnt “Blame it on the Boogie”.

I went on to love pop music and continued to follow Michael Jackson’s career from the Jackson 5 to Off the Wall (best album ever!), Thriller (second best album) to all his recent hits. His memory will live on and luckily for our children his songs are still with us.

At least now he has peace. My thoughts are with his family and his children.

“There are people dying, if you care enough for the living, you make a better place for you and for me”. Michael Jackson
